Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with the project team during preconstruction for developing and updating estimates.
· Review project plans, requirements, and specifications.
· Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.
· Coordinate subcontract solicitations and relevant job walks.
· Determine labor and construction equipment costs.
· Meet and maintain proposal and bid schedules.
· Compare competitive trade bids.
· Review preliminary quotes and pre-bid estimates.
· Secure all bid documents, including bid forms and quote letters.
· Prepare subcontractor bid lists and submit drawings to subcontractors. Participate in bid compilation on bid day.
· Assist jobsite staff with estimates post bid award.
Position Requirements:
· Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, or equivalent experience.
· Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
· Proficiency in computer applications, complex spreadsheets, database programs, and on-screen takeoff programs.
· Strong conceptual estimating skills.
· Ability to professionally review estimates with owners and clients.
· Historical pricing knowledge base.
· Ability to lead a lump sum bid pursuit.
· Knowledge of the local subcontractor community and all trades.
· Experience with design-build projects.
· Experience with 5-D estimating.
· Familiarity with various estimating software.
· Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
