Description
Our national multi-family management company seeks a Construction Accounting Assistant with a "Whatever it Takes" attitude to assist the Accounting in the property management division of AOG.
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting with bank reconciliations, approving vendor invoices, posting routine journal entries, pulling reports for monthly financial statements, audit requests, replacement reserves and other ad hoc requests. Must be highly organized and have outstanding communication skills to be successful in this role. The accounting clerk will work closely with the property accountants, senior property accountants and other team members to ensure all tasks previously listed are completed accurately and timely.

- Approve vendor invoices on a daily basis.
- Ensure weekly bank reconciliations are completed and identify discrepancies between the bank statement and the general ledger for the property accountants and senior property accountants to investigate.
- Assist with running the report batches for the financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Assist with reconciling routine balance sheet accounts monthly which includes but is not limited to Cash, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Prepaid Rent, etc. and make corrections at the direction of the property accountants.
- Interact with property accountants and senior property accountants to resolve issues.
- Maintain well organized files to company standards in cloud-based storage and backup as attachments in the property software(s).
- Assist with year-end audit requests.
- Assist with replacement reserve requests
- Complete special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND TRAINING
DEGREES AND DIPLOMAS
- An associate degree is preferred (in accounting preferred) and one to three years professional accounting experience encompassing similar duties or equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus.
