General description
The IT division is looking for a "Certified" Okta Administrator to join our Security and Data Operations team. This person would be joining a team that is face-paced, security aware and dedicated to solving technical issues that arise on a day-to-day basis. Your workday will involve handling all aspects of Okta administration, including application integrations, upgrades and configuration changes. Work will also including managing user access to ensure least privilege. Apply to join our team if you are self-motivated, detail-oriented, honest and customer friendly.
Work Hours
Eight-hour work schedule between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, 40-hour week, Monday - Friday with occasional work schedule variance when necessary. Performs on-call duty on a rotational basis and occasionally work evenings, weekends or holidays. Hours may change based on business need.
Teleworking may be considered if certain working conditions are met. The candidate must have permanent residency within the state of Texas and must be able to meet in office requirements, which can vary among different sections (i.e. report to office 1-3 days/week, etc.). Travel reimbursements are not provided for teleworking.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
Complete copies of college transcripts must be furnished to the divisional hiring representative at the time of the interview for positions requiring a college degree, and/or specific educational credits.
Four (4) years' experience in Identity and Access Management platforms and/or Microsoft 365 as a Systems Administrator.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or other related discipline.
Four (4) years of IAM experience including Two (2) years of Okta configuration/SSO integrations/onboarding new tenant.
Five (5) years of progressive experience in system administration, analysis and design work.
Strong understanding of SSO/federated authentication methods (SAML, OIDC, OAuth) and their components.
Experience performing customer service in an IT environment.
Substitutions
One (1) additional year of work experience providing system administration for Okta, Messaging/Exchange, and/or M365 Tenant support activities may substitute for thirty semester hours of the required education, with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years).

In this role you will:
System Administration
Analysis and administration of all aspects of the Okta, including occasional support on the Microsoft 365/Exchange Tenant.
Analyzes, troubleshoots and solves complex problems related to system hardware, software and networking issues as it pertains to incident and problem calls, and in the processing of service requests and tasks.
Oversees, installs, configures, and maintains Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform and assigned applications.
Upgrades and harden server/applications to supported version in accordance to agency policy.
Monitors server and application logs for security, capacity, and performance impacts.
Creates and maintains technical documentation and security controls of assigned systems.
Defines and manages the roles and access privileges of individual users and devices to a variety of applications to prevent unauthorized access.
Assists in testing, analyzing and updates for agency disaster recovery plans.
Creates training materials, coordinates the training of staff prior to the implementation of systems, and provides advice and guidance during the implementation process.
Designs, implements, and upkeeps scripts to automate routine tasks.
Operations
Participates in rotating 24x7 on-call schedule.
Troubleshoots client connectivity and authentication issues.
Installs and maintains SSL certificates.
Assists development and project teams in integrating applications consistent with established architecture.
Architecture
Maintains architecture diagrams, system support tickets and platform document repositories for all assigned systems.
Follows agency procedures for maintaining hardware and software inventory.
Assists with budget recommendations for operating systems, including the supporting hardware and software.
Defines and/or contributes to operating procedures for technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and project development and implementation efforts.
Performs other related duties as assigned

Salary is contingent upon qualifications. CPA employees in the same job classification, if selected, will be laterally transferred with no increase in salary. (An example might be an Accounts Examiner III in Revenue Administration who moves to an Accounts Examiner III in the Enforcement division).
