Vp, Enterprise Operations

Summary/Objective  

Shaw Systems is a national software development company that has an established record of solid financial performance and an excellent reputation for providing quality products. We are seeking a Vice President of Enterprise Operations to lead our Enterprise Operations team to provide high-quality services to our financial services clients delivering and supporting Shaw’s industry leading loan serving platform solutions. 

Responsibilities 

• Infrastructure/Cloud Architecture: Accountability for supporting Shaw’s internal and client hosted infrastructure in Microsoft’s Azure Cloud and on-premises infrastructure in our Houston and Richmond Offices. 

• Designing and implementing secure and scalable cloud architectures 
• Troubleshooting and triaging issues and determining, documenting, and addressing root cause 

• Software/Hardware: Responsible for all aspects of Shaw’s third-party software (SW) and hardware (HW) design, installation, and deployments. 

• Reviewing / Approving new SW/HW requests based on compatibility, performance and ROI 
• Conduct Proof of Concepts/Pilots for proving in future solutions and develop business justifications 
• Track and Manage Shaw’s SW/HW Assets  

• Development/Release Management: Partner with the VP of Development and VP of Quality Engineering to design and implement comprehensive strategies for delivery of Shaw’s loan servicing platform solutions, including re-architecting and automating the current state cloud platform upgrades to Shaw’s client environments. 
• 24x7x365 Enterprise Operations: Partner with the VP of Client Engagement, VP of Development, and the Information Security Officer, to ensure that we continue to develop and implement comprehensive strategies for supporting our 24x7x365 Enterprise Operations Center providing service excellence to our clients. 
• Monitoring and Alerting Systems: Develop and Implement Monitor and Alerting Systems on key performance, capacity, and security indicators that identify and report on abnormalities within Shaw’s technical cloud and on-premises infrastructure. 
• Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Responsible for defining, maintaining, reporting, and delivering on our Clients SLA’s and internal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). 
• Management: As Member of the Operations Leadership team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, responsible for  

• Leading, coaching and developing a team of employees, contractors, service consultants, and vendor/partners (on/offshore) 
• Evaluating existing technical capabilities and systems and identifies opportunities for improvement 

• Cloud Networks/Information Security: Work closely with the Information Security Office, escalating all potential security incidents within Shaw’s incident response policy and procedures. 
• Operating Procedures: Develops and Documents standard operating procedures related to all internal operations KPIs/SLAs and Shaw’s SOC 2 Type II compliance. 

• Risk Management: Develops a deep understanding of Shaw’s operational risks and drives the response process in order to minimize the impact of these risks. 
• Operational Excellence: Influences and improves upon existing processes through innovation and operational change. 
• Strategic Planning: Develops the Enterprise Operations strategic plans and related projects to meet internal and client related goals and objectives. 
• Financial Management: Monitors, Tracks, Reports, and Negotiates on all SW/HW purchases and cloud utilizations costs. Develops, recommends, and implements cost savings solutions to allow for reinvestment into staffing and strategic investments.  
• Business Continuity Planning: Provides information and strategic guidance to leadership during incidents and crises. Executes quarterly BCP/Disaster Recovery exercises to ensure Shaw’s ability to recover Client and or internal systems in the event of a material event. 

Requirements 

• Education: bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. 
• Experience: 12+ years of infrastructure operations experience with at least 5+ years as a director or above.  
• Enterprise Operations Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of business systems and server architecture cloud technology, networks, storage systems, information security and/or related data center technologies. Experience in leading operations teams delivering high levels of services to clients.  
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership abilities with the ability to effectively lead and inspire teams both domestic and global. Strong mentoring, coaching, and performance management skills.  
• Results: Demonstrated ability in meeting deadlines without compromising close attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment without sacrificing customer service. 
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address technical infrastructure and application issues. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products. 
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills. 
• Ownership/Accountability: Self motivator, that looks for challenges and rolls up their sleeves to identify and understand the core issues and works closely with all levels and across teams to implement solutions.  
• Compliance: Experience with SOC 2 and or Information Security audit and compliance. 
• Financial Services/Consumer Lending Experience: Previous experience working in the financial services / consuming lending domain, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges supporting large-scale enterprise software in the cloud. 

Location 

This position may work from any of the following locations: Hybrid office schedule if within 75 miles of the Houston, TX or Richmond, VA office.  Remote with the ability to travel at least 25% from the following states:  Texas if more than 75 miles from the office location, Virginia if more than 75 miles from the office location, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Utah.

Supervisory Responsibility 

This position oversees all areas of Enterprise Operations and will have direct and indirect reports of varying tiles. Direct reports may include Director, Manager, Team Lead. 

Work Environment and Physical Demands 

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday.  The daily schedule may vary from 7 am – 4 pm, 8 am – 5 pm or 9 am – 6 pm, and occasional afterhours or weekend work may be required.  Hours may vary or exceed 40 in any given week depending on the needs of the business. 

Travel 

Limited travel (up to 25%) is expected for this position.
