Hybrid: Position does not require an employee to be on-site full time. This position requires an employee to be onsite 3 times per week
The Role:
As a member of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team at General Motors Asset Management (GMAM), you will work collaboratively within integrated cross-functional teams, external vendors and counterparties to ensure the maintenance, continued development , ongoing implementation, and testing and reporting of the firm's Compliance Program; including its body of policies, procedures, processes, systems and controls. In addition, you will support the Operations & ERM organization in special projects as part of ongoing efforts to transform, optimize and mitigate key risk in the organizational processes.
What You'll Do:
  • Maintain, continue to develop and oversea the ongoing implementation and oversight of the firm's Compliance Program
  • Conduct compliance audits, review controls, and interpret results as part of the ongoing oversight of the adherence to the firm's Compliance Program by both internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide regular reports to leadership and on the effectiveness of the existing compliance measures and advise on any actions or changes that should be implemented
  • Work closely with Legal Staff, external industry counterparts to monitor legal and regulatory developments and assist in the recommendation and implementation of any compliance policies, procedures and controls changes that may be required
  • Coordinate annual firm compliance training for firm staff members and prepare training programs in response to anticipated regulatory changes impacting the plans in the various jurisdictions in which we operate
  • Communicate on an ongoing basis with investment managers, external counsel, and various other counterparties on compliance matters
  • Advise the business with compliance operations related queries, including triaging of received queries and resolution of questions about companies' policy and procedures
  • Assist Operations, Enterprise Risk Management, and Legal teams on ad-hoc projects and initiatives

Additional Job Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
  • A bachelor's degree in business, 3+ years of compliance and or economics preferred
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information
  • Demonstrated ability to develop policies and procedures
  • Supervisory, employee development, and leadership skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze, summarize, and effectively present data.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
  • Demonstrate ability to identify and implement efficiency/process improvements

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
  • The salary range for this role is ($83,800-$133,900). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
