Key Responsibilities
This is a 12-week, full-time summer internship. This position will be reporting to the Vice President, Risk and Compliance. The primary responsibilities of the Compliance Intern include:
- Assist with regulatory initiatives and support the VP of Risk and Compliance along with the Chief Compliance Officer management.
- Prepare applicable reporting for Enterprise Risk Committee and Board of Director meetings.
- Support Meritize’s compliance program by performing a variety of duties.
- Assist with regulatory and audit inquiries when appropriate.
- Support a culture within the Risk and Compliance Department in prioritizing quality and continuous improvement on all performance accountabilities, associate satisfaction, and efficiency.
Key Qualifications
To be eligible for this internship, applicants must have:
- A college degree or ongoing studies in a related field (Finance/Economics/Law)
- Be a sophomore or greater in college (preferred)
- Strong critical thinking and research acumen, excellent writing and editing skills, and knowledge and ability within Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret everyday regulatory updates, financial reports, and legal documents. Utilize PowerPoint to create compliance reports.
