Position Overview:
SMP has an opportunity for a skilled individual to join the SMP Competitive Data team in the role of Competitive Data Analyst. This is a great career opportunity for someone who has an automotive background at the dealership or aftermarket parts counter and/or has worked in the automotive or heavy-duty industry. This position requires a highly motivated individual with excellent analytical and communication skills who can work on multiple projects and thrive in a team environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform a visual assessment of parts
- Evaluate Part attributes
- Competitive Data data analysis
- Perform data formatting for automated data uploads
- Manual data entry
- Analyzing and working on feedback from team members and/or receivers
- Work and communicate well in a cross-functional team
- Tracking, incoming and outgoing content.
- Maintain quality control and general maintenance of SMP’s data.
- Assisting in special projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience and/or training.
- Desire 2 + years’ work experience in cataloging/Competitive Data/product management, with particular knowledge in manufacturing or the automotive industry. Experience with parts research, classification, and cataloging is a plus.
The candidate must have good written & verbal communication skills with explicit attention to detail in all aspects of his or her work, analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong working knowledge and comfort level with Microsoft Office – Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Desire to learn, leverage data, and use analysis tools such as MS-SQL.
Basic Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Competitive data protocols, and best practices
- Automotive knowledge is a plus.
- knowledge of ACES and/or PIES automotive aftermarket industry data standards is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
