Summary of the Position: The Compensation Specialist position streamlines activities and processes with the organization based on the priorities of the Chief People Officer (CPO). Assists the CPO with implementation of goals and strategies and ongoing projects. The ability to take on day-to-day tasks as assigned by CPO.
Responsibilities of position but not limited to:
- Define a fair, equitable and competitive total compensation and benefits package that fits and is aligned to our company's strategy and business goals
- Develop a consistent compensation philosophy in line with work culture and organizational objectives
- Ensure that compensation practices are in compliance with current legislation (pay equity, human rights, etc.)
- Assess employees needs by conducting organizational psychology surveys to find out what motivates and engages employees
- Prepare and maintains job descriptions, job analysis, job evaluations and job classifications for each position in the organization; ensure descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by the incumbents
- Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organization and occupation information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
- Benchmarks jobs against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
- Prepares and maintains job classifications and salary tiers
- Prepares and presents summary report of job analysis and compensation analysis information
- Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.
- Differentiate pay systems to invest in the segments of workforce that contribute the most value
- Deploy effective communication strategies and success metrics
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required, or three years related experience and/or training. Proficient with Office 365. Excellent communication and tracking skill.
