Job Description
As part of GM's Global Total Rewards team, you will support two important HR workstreams:
  • M&A: supporting the full deal lifecycle for all HR stakeholders from pre-LOI to integration, including global and domestic transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, minority investments, business expansions, and integration and transition activities
  • US proxy statement: providing compensation analysis and support for the executive compensation disclosures in the company's proxy statement

The ideal candidate must be curious and a constant self-driven learner, excel at establishing strong relationships, able to navigate across global functions and enjoy working in a fast-paced, high performing environment.
Additional Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Lead project work on the Compensation Discussion & Analysis section for the Annual Proxy Statement including compensation tables, CEO Pay Ratio, and overall design
  • Provide HR support for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and corporate transactions including due diligence requests, post-merger integration and transition support services
  • Assist in preparation of materials and reports for Compensation Committee Meetings
  • Support compensation programs and consult on compensation matters for General Motors subsidiary companies
  • Prepare reports and communications for executive leadership
  • Assist in incentive plan design and administration
  • Benchmark executive compensation programs at other public companies
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis and projects as required

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in HR, Business, Accounting or related field with minimum 2-7 years of experience in compensation, benefits, finance, HR, accounting, or tax
  • Ability to work with all levels (leaders, HR Business Partners, Executives, and Outside Consultants) and functions (HR, Tax, Legal, Finance, Treasury, Accounting, Communications)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
  • Strong analytical, written, and communication skills
  • High attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of compensation strategy and philosophy
  • Understanding of statistics
  • Understanding of proxy statement requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Compensation (CCP, GRP, CECP), Benefits or HR Certification

Remote OR Hybrid: This role has a remote option but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, or Milford locations, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum. If they do not live withing 50 miles of any of those locations, they don't need to report in.

Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is: $81,000 - $129,400 . Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
