CST (Community Support Team) Substance Use Professional

About your role:
The CST Substance Use (SU) Professional provides direct and indirect services to adult consumers with mental health, Substance Use, or co-morbid disorders who have complex and extensive treatment needs. This position assists the team leader with behavioral and Substance Use disorder treatment interventions. The CST SU Professional supports consumers challenged with MH, SU, or co-occurring issues in changing destructive behaviors, learning new coping skills, and in developing relapse prevention strategies. This position provides recovery-oriented interventions designed to sustain active community living on as independent a level as possible for each consumer. This position participates in intake, orientation, and treatment planning; screening and assessment; case management; service coordination, consultation, and referral; supportive counseling, education, and skills development; crisis management; and documentation. The CST Team SU Professional must be a CCS, LCAS, LCAS-A, or CADC and meet the status of a Qualified Professional according to 10A NCAC 27G .0104. The CST Team must operate within the following staff-to-consumer ratios: 1-12 clinical staff to client ratio with a team maximum of 48 consumers.
This position requires travel of approximately 75% of the time
Do the following apply to you:
- Must meet requirements for a CCS, LCAS, LCAS-A or CADC in NC:
- Must meet requirements for a Qualified Professional per 10A NCAC 27G .0104:
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Baccalaureate Degree in Social Work or Psychology, or a related human services field. Has 2 years of MH/DD/SA experience providing direct service to the population served.
OR
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services field. Has 1 year of MH/DD/SA experience providing direct service to the population served OR has contracted with a professional licensure board.
OR
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Baccalaureate Degree or a Master's Degree in a field unrelated to human services. Has required number of years of MH/DD/SA experience providing direct service to the population served.
