Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools is comprised of a non-profit network of public charter schools designed to significantly increase high school graduation rates, college entrance, and college graduation rates for underserved students in North-East Los Angeles, and the North-East San Fernando Valley.
Our mission at PUC Schools is to develop and manage high-quality charter schools in densely populated urban communities with overcrowded and low-achieving schools. The Team Member we are searching for
The ideal Community Schools Coordinator (CSC) believes in and is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC Schools and exhibits this through their leadership, reflection, execution of school culture, and collaboration to ensure student success.
Under the direction of the Principal, the Community Schools Coordinator is responsible for the implementation, integration, alignment, and coordination of the California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) for a school site. Additionally, the CSC will serve as an integral member of the school leadership team, and support with coordination of programs and services to improve academic and social-emotional outcomes for students. The CSC will collaborate with site staff, monitor program quality, and impact by using a data and results driven approach. This is a grant-funded role which is expected to last through June 2025.
What you will need to accomplish:
Family and Student Support:
- Identify scholars' and families' needs and connect them with appropriate services, such as counseling, healthcare, tutoring, and after-school programs to improve overall well-being and ability to focus on learning
- Facilitate family involvement in their children's education through organizing and facilitating workshops, meetings, and events
- Provides coordination of programs during and beyond the school day for students, families, and the community
- Integrate effective education, college preparation, family engagement, and enrichment, services into the existing school community
Partnership Management:
- Establish strong, productive, and trusting relationships with administrative team, school personnel, staff, scholars, and community to seek input on needs and address barriers to learning, equity and inclusion
- Collaborate with the school leadership team, teachers, Pupil Services and Attendance Counselors, Psychiatric Social Workers, the community, families, and agencies to design and implement the identified services at the school.
Community Engagement:
- Support the school’s efforts to partner with community agencies and local governments to align community resources to improve scholar outcomes
- Ensure all scholars are successful through partnering both internally and externally to coordinate services and resources to support scholar well-being, academic exploration and remediation, and health
- Integrate and align community resources serving the school, including tutoring, primary health, arts, recreation, academic, curricular and other resources identified as partners per the need assessment and district-wide initiatives
Data Collection and Reporting:
- Conduct needs assessments to identify social emotional, mental health, curricular and academic services that are most needed at the school site
- Collect data on scholar and community needs and program outcomes to continually assess their effectiveness, make informed decisions, and adapt their services to meet changing needs
- Evaluate services to identify gaps, build on existing supports, monitor outcomes and the effectiveness of partnerships
- Ensure the timely submission of all required reports and supporting materials
Program Development:
- Monitor Community Schools budget and provide quarterly fiscal reports on fund spent and impact of programs
- Review and monitor grant plan on a quarterly basis analyzing data, impact and providing recommendations on partnership expansion
- Organize and attend various school meetings and other outreach and grant related events (program culminations, press events, open houses, community events, etc.)
- Develop, manage, and coordinate documents needed for internal and external program audits and compliance requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
What do we require from you?
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university required
Experience:
- At least (4) years of progressive professional work experience in a related field required
- At least one (1) year of school leadership experience in a public or public charter urban school required
- Experience working with community organizations, non-profit or educational programs or social /human services settings preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

- Must be flexible and team-oriented
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work
- Regular attendance, dependability and, punctuality in conformance with the standards are essential to the successful performance of this position
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.
Compensation & Benefits:
- This is a full-time exempt, 11-month salaried position
- This is a grant-funded role which is expected to last through June 2025
