Under direct supervision of Department Assistant Director, the Recruitment & Intake Specialist organizes and oversees the referral, outreach, and intake process. Develops relationships with referral sources for contract sites and maintains appropriate communications with referral sources. Initiates intakes and gathers all necessary and required documents. Ensures program site client vacancies are kept to a minimum. Maintains appropriate records within required methods and time frames. Backs up other department staff, as needed.
Responsibilities
- Develops a list of referral sources for each CES site based on Maintains regular contact with referral sources and participates in network meetings as well as job and resource fairs. Visits potential referral sites regularly. Presents about the program to interested parties such as school transition programs, DRS offices and community organizations.
- Maintains current and accurate records according to accreditation standards. Opens client case in database to document client progress. Maintains accurate and updated records and files of client contacts in required systems.
- Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Responds appropriately to unexpected circumstances, preventing problems/issues and/or further escalation.
- Reads and interprets documents, writes routine reports and correspondence, and speaks effectively before customers or employees of organization.
- Initiates and participates in staffing for clients with active DRS cases, as needed.
- Follows prescribed safety procedures. Acts to ensure safety for self, co-workers and clients.
- Provides back up services for team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Experience in employment, rehabilitation, human services, marketing, or sales preferred.
- Excellent written and expressive communication skills; able to speak effectively before groups of clients or external stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite including email correspondence and proven ability to maneuver through required databases.
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle, posses a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to locations within the greater Chicagoland area is required. Not all locations are accessible via public transportation.
