Community Ourtreach and Prevention Educator
Nicasa’s gambling program is looking for a full-time Community Outreach and Prevention Educator. This position will report to the Senior Director of Gambling Services.
Qualifications
· 3-5 years in community engagement and outreach, training, marketing, and communications
· Complete knowledge of Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and social media
· Ability to learn employer software.
· Knowledge of marketing fundamentals and market research
· Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and evenings
· Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
· Proficient written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
· Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills with incredible attention to detail
· Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
· Strong work ethic with the ability to prioritize and multitask and meet deadlines
· Evidence of equity, diversity, and inclusion skillset
· The competence to collect and analyze appropriate data
· Education/training- bachelor’s degree in marketing, teaching, addiction counseling or related field
Job Description
· Identify, plan and schedule community events and locations for community level intervention
· Conduct group and community level interventions activities in assigned areas, according to the monthly schedule and program policies and procedures
· Prepare literature and other materials for dissemination during outreach that is targeted to the audience
· Assist in developing promotional strategies that will increase awareness of services within the community
· Assists in the development and presentation of appropriate curricula and training materials that will provide recipients with a basic understanding of problem gambling
· Develop a strategy to involve all segments of the target community in various outreach activities.
· Develop short- and long-term plans for communication and public relations programs and activities in collaboration with the Senior Director
· Document, compile, and submit data report of community outreach activities in a timely manner
· Attend appropriate community resource meetings
· Monitor literature and program marketing supplies and order additional supplies as needed
· Display professional appearance in accordance with agency policy,
· Connect communities to resources both within the team and externally
· This is a full-time position that reports to the Senior Director of Gambling Services
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.50 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
