Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Regional Manager and working closely with a skilled team, the Community Manager is a supervisory position with the authority, responsibility, and accountability to plan, implement and monitor operations of the assigned community. The Community Manager is responsible for maximizing long-term operating performance, overseeing, and enhancing financial growth and maintaining the physical condition of the community while guiding and growing onsite team members. This individual will utilize his/her unique set of skills and relationships to contribute to a dynamic and growing company. Mack Property Management seeks confident, resourceful, and self-initiating team players with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, multi-pronged work environment where each individual contributor is expected to drive projects forward while also working collaboratively to achieve shared goals. He/she will be expected to manage projects independently or through a team, make important decisions about operational approaches while also leveraging the strengths of the broader team to deliver the high-quality, high-impact work that will lead to the success of our reputation.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for all operational, marketing, and financial aspects of the property and for meeting established goals and objectives in those areas.
  • Achieves results by facilitating optimum performance of the property in areas such as:
  • Managing team member performance (including contractors)
  • Marketing strategies
  • Leasing
  • Generating traffic to the physical site and applicable social media sites
  • Collections
  • Resident services
  • Maintenance
  • Revenue enhancement
  • Capital improvements
  • Information reporting, and Compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, motivates, and supervises all on-site team members.
  • Ensures the physical condition and maintenance of the community.
  • Performs various special projects and tasks as required and/or requested.

Essential Skills/Attributes of the Ideal Candidate
  • Any combination of education and experience that achieves the appropriate balance of hard and soft skills will be considered.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a multi-family property manager (200+ units) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with 421A, affordable, and Leasing is required.
  • Experience with property management applications including Yardi, RealPage, Onesite, Epay, PayScan, SafeRent, Radix and Funnel preferred.
  • Familiar with PO systems preferred.
  • Completing a monthly variance report with comments-skills
  • Experience with budgeting and reforecasting preferred.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with internal and external partners and with residents.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and building teams.
  • Strong marketing strategies to include knowledge of internet and social media.
  • Demonstrates professional leadership skills through effective work habits, attitude, inter-personal skills, initiative, and follow-through.
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively under pressure with multiple and changing priorities and deadlines as evidenced by use of tact, maturity, interpersonal effectiveness, good judgement, and discretion.
  • Customer-service and external stakeholder orientation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Demonstrates organization and time management skills.
  • Working independently
  • Ability to work weekends as necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Compensation, Benefits and Requirements

Salary for this position is highly competitive and commensurate with experience. The compensation structure includes a base salary, paid bi-weekly and qualifies to also earn a performance bonus. This is a full-time, EXEMPT requiring 40 hours per work week. Additional or non-business hours and varying amounts of travel may be warranted based on the needs of the business. Salary (85k-95k) MPM offers a well-rounded benefits package, including health, disability, life, and 401k retirement.
