Job Description


The Department of Social Work is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic individual to join the administrative team in the main office. The Assistant Coordinating Manager may supervise and/or perform the full range of secretarial, administrative functions for the Social Work Department senior administrative staff. The ideal candidate will exhibit good verbal and written communication skills and will work weekdays 9am-5pm.


Examples of typical tasks will include:

  • Performing the day to day functions of the hospital wide clothing program including ordering and delivering clothing, answering calls, entering logs, and tracking expenses with an eye on budgetary concerns in a city funded hospital.
  • Providing reception activities for department such as answering calls, filing, scanning.
  • Maintaining HR files of all employees including ensuring compliance with performance evaluations and required learning
  • As assigned, facilitating all aspects of Supply Chain for purchasing of supplies, equipment, clothing, cell phones and other departmental or hospital needs (from purchasing to receiving to distribution, tracking etc) and perform these functions along with the relevant departments (communications, receiving, purchasing, budget/finance etc)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of HR process in relation to position backfill to hire including tracking, coordinating/ communicating with appropriate parties, submission of necessary documentation etc, as well as Social Work HR file requirements, should coverage be needed for this aspect of departmental work
  • Other tasks that may be assigned

Minimum Qualifications


Qualification Requirements:

1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Community Health, Psychology or related discipline with one year of full-time experience in a supervisory or administrative capacity in business management systems, general administration, health care and medical/patient systems administration; or,

2. A satisfactory combination of education, training and experience.
