Community Lead

On behalf of our client, a Web3 Startup with the purpose to foster a new digital economy focused around the Metaverse. 

The Vision

The “metaverse” is best defined as a network of meaningful worlds, objects, identities and experiences that build on each other and the real world in ways that create economic value or provide fulfilling experiences. This network will unleash innovative businesses offering sophisticated digital assets, creating new jobs and expanding human opportunity.

However, all this potential remains largely unrealized due to technical, experiential, and accessibility challenges. In addition, the absence of a functioning technological and economic system that allows builders and creators to support one another's work means we are stuck with either very open and decentralized but non-functional metaverse frameworks that major companies can’t use or popular but fundamentally closed UGC gaming platforms with limited freedom to build major businesses on top of them. A fully realized practical metaverse ecosystem is a network of many actors, all with their own needs and interests, all of whom have to be able to credibly build real businesses.

Your Mission

As Community Lead, you will assume the pivotal role of fostering and nurturing a close-knit relationship with our community. Through gaining an in-depth knowledge of our product offerings, a successful Community Lead will engage and inspire community members through clear and considerate communication. 

Responsibilities

Among other things, you will be accountable for:

• Community Development:
  • Cultivate and nurture an active and thriving Web 3 community, focusing on engaging developers and creators. 
  • Formulate and execute strategies to elevate community participation, interactions, and growth across platforms like Discord and X (formerly know as Twitter). 
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity and belonging within the community. 
• Moderation Team Management:
  • Manage and expand a team of moderators as the community continues to grow, providing training and guidance as necessary. 
  • Collaborate with product and marketing teams to establish a consistent schedule for announcements, promotions, and giveaways. 
• Event Coordination:
  • Schedule, manage, and promote events such as X Spaces and other live activities on Discord, enhancing community engagement. 
  • Lead the ideation and execution of successful online and offline developer campaigns, including hackathons, workshops, and conferences, to bolster the community's involvement. 
  • Plan and execute online and offline events and meet-ups in your region, fostering a stronger sense of community both digitally and in person. 
• Community Metrics and Reporting:
  • Analyze and present community performance metrics, engagement data, and growth statistics. 
  • Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions for community enhancement. 

Requirements & Outcome

• Proven experience in Web 3 community management, with a strong focus on developer and creator projects. 

• Successful track record of growing and nurturing Web 3 communities on platforms like Discord and Twitter. 
• In-depth knowledge of Web 3 technologies, L1 and L2 infrastructure, and blockchain ecosystems. 
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team. 
• Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making. 

Nice to haves

• Familiarity with Web 3 projects outside of the consumer space is preferred. 
• Previous experience with real-world meetups or events is a significant advantage but not mandatory.

Role Location

The company itself is a remote-first business, however we prefer the normal working hours between 9 am and 6 pm GMT or within three hours of the GMT timezone.

Reporting Lines

This role will report directly to the Head of Marketing.
