The Community Engagement Manager supports the Associate Director of Community Engagement on all fronts. This role will connect community programs to fit into the larger picture of STG’s vision and mission. STG operates the Paramount, Moore, Neptune Theatres. STG’s Education + Community Engagement goal is targeting 75% of our programming to include: Black, Indigenous, People of Color, LGBTQ+, Disabled/and or Neurodivergent, Transient, Homeless, Low income, womxn. This is a regular full time non-exempt position that earns $27.08-$37.92/hour, with a midpoint of 32.50/hour, plus medical, dental, vision, life, ltd and std insurance, as well as paid vacation, sick leave and holidays.
The Community Engagement Manager supports the Associate Director of Community Engagement on all fronts. - Manage Community Engagement Music Programs including STG Songwriters Lab, Starbucks + STG Up Next and Arts Festival performances
- Produce events small to large within community and theatre settings
- Co-Manage The Gallery; working with curators and artists of color representing visual art in Paramount Theatre Lobby Bar and other STG theatre and accompanying special events
- Activate community spaces in STG venues
- Moderate and lead workshops and events frequently
- Coordinate front of house & hospitality for Community Engagement productions
and special events
- Manage day-to-day operations of assigned programs
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration activity to leverage impact and engagement both internally and externally of assigned programs
- Ensure a series of concurrent projects with competing deadlines and pressures are delivered with high quality, on time and on budget
- Provide logistical support for on and off-site events, performances and programs as needed
- Manage the collection and reporting data related to programs under Education Partnership Manager
- Other duties may be assigned as needed with flexibility to take on new roles or responsibilities as the company evolves
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and passion for Community Engagement and music event planning
- Experience in administration within the performing arts fields
- 4 years of event producing and planning
- Expertise in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility frameworks and an ability to relate to diverse professional, cultural, and social perspectives.
- Experience in public speaking and facilitation
- Proficiency in relevant Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet-based research
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong organizational ability
- Poses a positive attitude and calm demeanor in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to exercise confidentiality and discretionary judgment
- Write and speak a second language is a plus
