The Senior Manager, IT Business Relationships, is responsible for ensuring business project requests are aligned strategic goals, initiatives, and efforts. As a liaison with business teams, they are dedicated to foster productive, value-producing relationship between business and IT by aiming for customer satisfaction and understanding and relaying customer needs to the IT team. They will help business leaders shape their strategies regarding technology solution implementations and product adoptions. They will play an integral part representing all IT product groups to avoid complexity from the IT customer point of view, and to provide a clear accountability for them. Equally important, they will work across the IT global organization to ensure the business partner's unique needs are incorporated in IT global standards and enterprise solutions.
*This position requires working onsite in Lake Zurich, IL 3+ days per week.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main interface as well as manage relationships between the functional/business teams, technical teams, and support teams, partnering with technology resources to fully realize benefits of target architecture and platforms
- Align strategic and tactical business objectives with corresponding IT objectives and long-term roadmaps.
- Serve as internal voice of the customer as needed by articulating business needs; validate functional and non-functional requirements are met by any proposed solutions as well as confirming alignment to technology roadmaps.
- Provide additional 'art of the possible' insights and thought leadership on industry/functional trends and best practices to guide business priorities and technology decisions.
- Value capture: Measure and evaluate IT organization's program activities and outcomes, in partnership with program sponsors, by analyzing performance metrics to ensure value creation by focusing on business capability, adoption of solution and value of project being achieved,
- Facilitate the development and implementation of business cases and guide the business in effectively investing in standard product groups and the innovation services. Include all or some definition of scope, ROI, risks & mitigations, major components of work, staffing requirements, and financial needs.
- Project Lead/Manage medium to high level complex initiatives that require full lifecycle execution from ideation to solution execution.
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management, stakeholders, and sponsors.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in business or related field required. Master's Degree preferred.
- 8+ years of related experience
- 3+ years of management experience
- Project Management Institute (PMI) certification a plus
- Strong experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, Visio and SharePoint
- Demonstrated ability to influence others and build and maintain effective working relationships
