The Center for Humanistic Change, Inc. (CHC) located in Allentown PA is a 501-c-3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to give people, especially youth, the knowledge and tools they need to make better-informed and more positive life choices through the interactive delivery of prevention education and evidence-based programming. Drug and alcohol prevention programs remain a core service. Our vital programs and services are provided in the schools, in the community, and in the workplace.

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of kids? The Center for Humanistic Change is hiring a CTC Coordinator.
What is a CTC? The Communities That Care Coalition is a prevention system designed to reduce levels of adolescent delinquency and substance use through the selection and use of effective preventative interventions tailored to a community's specific profile of risk and protection.
The CTC's mission is to bring together schools, families, youth, and the community to improve youth health and health equity.
The CTC Coordinator is a part-time, hourly position that will coordinate two existing coalitions in the Whitehall and Catasauqua areas. The candidate must be available to commit approximately 32 hours per month. Responsibilities will include:
- Meeting preparation (agenda, reminders, copies, coordination with site, etc.)
- Meeting Facilitation (including set-up and clean-up)
- Meeting Follow-up (meeting notes, following up with members who have not attended meetings, action step follow-up)
- Coalition Maintenance (meeting with key people regarding programs and activities, orienting new members, checking in with returning members)
- Support for programs and activities decided upon during data review and planning
- Participating in activities to increase community awareness and attendance at community events
- Ongoing professional development through EPIS
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and with a team, manage deadlines for paperwork and electronic data entry, and relate well to youth and adults. Excellent judgment, attention to detail, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, strong presentation and facilitation skills, and proficiency in MS Office are required. Juggling deadlines, thinking outside the box, adapting to new situations, remaining current with new trends in prevention and technology, and the ability and willingness to learn new skills are essential to success in this position.
A Bachelor's Degree is required in education, psychology, counseling, social work, public health, or a closely related human services field, along with relevant work experience or equivalent formal training. Bi-lingual applicants are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of the Whitehall and Catasauqua areas is a plus. All applicants must have reliable transportation and the ability to do light lifting to transport files and other materials as necessary to/from the office and school.
The Center for Humanistic Change staff are expected to obtain and maintain all state and local training requirements and clearances, including PA Child Abuse history clearance, PA State Police background clearance, FBI background fingerprinting check and mandated child abuse reporter training. Clearances and criminal record checks must be in compliance and in accordance with the laws reflecting the ability to work in schools and with children.
