Job Description
The purpose of this position is to aid in the strategic marketing plan to promote community awareness of the college and produce a positive image to help student recruitment, enhance employer satisfaction, and increase funding. Assists with development and implementation of a media relations plan (hard copy and digital) to build strong community and student engagement.

Education and Experience:
- Requires Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
- Approximately one - two years of related experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of word processing, social media, and photography/videography preferred.
- Knowledge of social media marketing; exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written; able to work through multiple tasks simultaneously; able to manage time efficiently; able to collaborate with others; strong attention to detail.
Physical Demands
This job requires frequently talking or hearing, occasionally standing, occasionally walking, occasionally reaching with hands and arms, occasionally gripping, or feeling with hands, typing/repetitive movement, occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and frequently sitting. Essential Duties:
- Implements internal and external communications plans, programs, and tactics through appropriate channels; contributes to the development of the communications plans in collaboration with direct supervisor.
- Works collaboratively in concepting, executing, and evaluating integrated communications through a variety of channels such as mass email, website, newsletters, print and digital publications, events, etc.
- Builds and maintains relationships with outside media personnel/journalists and marketing partners.
- Designs (or assists with design), creates copy for, drafts, and produces of a variety of communications and creative materials, including internal announcements, video scripts, executive talking points, internal and external newsletters, banners, signage, presentations, invitations, annual reports, and other related projects - all in a high-quality and timely manner.
- Writes news releases for the College's website, social media pages, local media.
- Ensures communication materials effectively capture key messages, including the organization's business objectives, values, mission, and priorities.
- Plans for and manages digital marketing, advertising, and communication of courses and activities for the College (including web and social media).
- Provides prompt and professional response to social media content.
- Tracks analytics, pull reports when needed.
- Manages small edits on the website and conducts frequent website audits.
- Sets up photo/video shoots and photographs/videos college programs, people, special events, etc. for use in college print and digital marketing, such as publications, news releases, advertisements, website, social media, and other special projects.
- Photographs/videos special events and program activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
