JOB SUMMARY
This position is located in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Administrative Services Administration, Communication Division. The purpose of the position is to lead the agency’s overall social media, community outreach and creative communication strategies for marketing collateral that promotes DMV priorities to District of residents and the public, as well as maintaining up-to-date, meaningful and engaging content on DMV’s internet and intranet websites and landing pages.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads digital marketing efforts, search engine optimization (SEO) strategy. development, as well as production of graphics, video, and photo content. Manages the graphic quality of all print, electronic, and digital communication including promotional materials, brochures, newsletters, multimedia slide presentations, press releases, public service announcements, media events, fact sheets, talking points, PowerPoint presentations, newsletters (internal and external), organizational material and signage, advertisements, and other related communication. Remains up to date with digital marketing strategies and social media trends. Generates new ideas to draw audience attention.
Establishes and oversees DMV presence on social media channels, such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Executes live streaming events on social media. Participates in various community outreach activities and provides live coverage of community events including photography and videography.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, the incumbent must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
The work is typically performed in an office setting, but the incumbent will occasionally be required to attend events in the District.
Work involves a moderate degree of physical activity. The work of the position may require that the incumbent be able to traverse several floors of the agency to meet with staff across multiple divisions, travel outside of the office to meet with residents and DMV stakeholders (as needed, when providing support to the Public Information Officer). The work may also require extended periods of time sitting at a desk, walking and/or standing.
