Join a creative and resourceful, fast-paced team to monitor, measure and implement innovative media relations and Rapid Response strategies to support brand reputation. Reporting to the Media Relations Manager, Enterprise Operations, this individual is an ambitious and driven early-career communications professional dedicated to learning the aerospace & defense media landscape.The successful candidate will excel in identifying potentially impactful breaking news and contextualizing developments to appropriate internal stakeholders and customers. The candidate will be detail-oriented with a sense of urgency, have a commitment to relationship-building within the corporation, and have excellent analytical and writing skills.
Primary responsibilities of this position:
1. You can consume and contextualize breaking news and industry developments. You
a. monitor print, digital and online media sources for issues and policies relevant to the Lockheed Martin and the aerospace & defense industry
b. partner with external vendors to monitor, filter, assess and provide media coverage and analysis
c. serve as the "eyes and ears" of our function, centralizing information flow during crisis exercises
2. You are a team player. You
a. cultivate and maintain relationships with business area partners and internal clients
b. support integration of media relations with digital communications within the communications function across the enterprise
c. support the media relations team with an ability to step into unfamiliar roles on an "as-needed" basis
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public
- Familiarity with contemporary communications trends (AP Style)
- Able to work on many projects simultaneously
- Motivated self-starter who performs without
competing priorities and tight deadlines
Desired Skills:
- Exceptional writing, editing and oral
highly complex information in a clear, compelling
manner
- Creative instincts to help support strategic
- Strong understanding of the news media
- Ability to cultivate and maintain effective
executive leadership and work in a matrix
environment

Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.Schedule for this Position:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per weekPay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $54,900 - $103,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $47,800 - $91,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
