Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains a high level of proficiency in network, wireless, and network security technologies
- Monitors overall network usage to ensure optimal performance
- Provides monthly and quarterly network performance reports
- Delegates projects and tasks to network engineering staff, ensuring timely completion
- Coordinates the assignment of on-call staff supporting network operations
- Coordinates the hiring, evaluation, and training of network staff
- Maintains vendor relationships in support of the network
- Coordinates and evaluates contract proposals in support of key projects
- Provides technical design recommendations in support of the network
- Prepares project and equipment purchase proposals for supporting the network Assists in the preparation of roadmaps, budgets, and life cycle refresh projects supporting the network
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience working within the data network engineering field
- 3+ years of relevant leadership and managerial experience
- 5+ years of experience supporting network routing, switching, wireless, security, and datacenter architectures
- Experience mentoring, training, and providing task assignments to network team staff
- Experience providing leadership and guidance working with project managers, vendors, and business partners
- Experience negotiating contracts, delivering proposals, and supporting life cycle refresh planning
- Experience in leading the development and maintenance of key data network operations programs
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required
- Experience working with Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, Aruba SDWAN and Cradlepoint network technologies a plus
