This position will serve as the College of Letters, Arts and Social Science liaison for leveraging and activating strategies in partnership with the University Communications & Marketing (UCM) department and will advance the university's brand strategy through the college lens.
Position Overview
The position serves as the chief content and channels strategist for multiple units advising on - and developing - internal and external messaging strategy. They will serve as the unit's liaison for leveraging and activating strategies in partnership with the University Communications & Marketing (UCM) department and will advance the university's brand strategy through the unit and college lens. The incumbent understands, coordinates, and leverages central communication and Marketing initiatives into the unit as applicable and contributes to the university's broader content strategy.
Duties may include:
- Advancing the unit's reputation through public relations strategies that drive purposeful messaging and engagement in support of the unit's strategic goals, priorities and initiatives
- Providing communications leadership in a variety of priorities across a variety of areas
- Writing and editing a variety of materials in digital and print formats
- Attending UCM meetings as a contributor and as a representative of the unit
- Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications
Required Experience
- Four years of experience in marketing or integrated communications
- Using market analysis and measurement to drive strategy
- Building communication strategies targeted at specific audiences through multiple channels
- Managing multiple projects with competing deadlines that require accuracy and attention to detail
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or public relations; four additional years of experience (for a total of eight) may substitute for a Bachelor's Degree
Required Other
Additional Preferred
- Experience producing and editing informational and persuasive collateral.
- Experience developing, executing, and measuring impact of marketing and communications plans and initiatives to achieve organizational goals.
- Established record of collaboration and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse internal and external constituents.
- Experience working with enrollment and/or advancement and development professionals.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Ability to translate technical or specialized information for public use and understanding.
- Experience in media relations.
