We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Communications & Event Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies and coordinating events - both internally and externally. This role requires a creative thinker with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Accomplish and Experience
Communication Management:
- Develop & execute communication plans to convey organizational messages internally and externally
- Craft engaging content for various platforms; including press releases, newsletters, internal features, and social media
- Maintain brand consistency across communication channels
- Outline due dates, and timelines and communicate across the organization, and in project teams
- Lead quarterly company wide communications events, and celebrations
- Draft press releases for company announcements, and distribute to necessary partners
Event Planning & Coordination:
- Plan, organize, and execute a variety of events, including conferences, seminars, product launches, and community outreach programs.
- Coordinate logistics for both internal, and external events - such as venues, audio-visual, transportation, shipping, and speakers.
- Manage event budgets and ensure events align with organization goals.
- Support Business units in external tradeshows - including traveling as needed for shows and working tradeshow booths .
- This position requires approximately 25% travel and includes international travel.
Content Creation:
- Develop compelling visual and written content for promotional materials, presentations, and social media.
- Collaborate with design teams on marketing collateral needs.
- Experience writing new or feature stories.
- Communicate with different business units to gather information and insights for communication initiatives.
- Cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote effective communication.
- Work cross functionally to write and submit award applications across the company.
Community Engagement:
- Lead the internal community engagement team, and community engagement events & initiatives.
- Represent the CCR Family of Companies as community events.
- Serve as point of contact for external community partners.
Desirable Previous Experience
- Proven experience in communications, event planning, or related role
- Experience with managing multiple vendor relationships
- Strong project management and organization abilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 Product Suite - including scheduling, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Creative mindset and a keen eye for details
- Current with trends in Communications and Events
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Occasionally required to operate in cramped and confined spaces, and lift/carry up to 40 lbs.
- Demonstrate support and enthusiasm for change and innovation.
- Ability to identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities even with limited information, and make appropriate and timely decisions.
- Thorough and resourceful in completing tasks independently.
- Ability to work within a ticketing system documenting all transactions appropriately.
- Effectively work within a team by developing, maintaining and strengthening partnerships with others inside and outside the organization.
- Ability to exercise a high degree of good judgement and independence while evaluating emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Continually seeking opportunities to gain new knowledge.
