The Opportunity…
- Initiate Interconnection Applications: Start the commercial interconnection application process by gathering all necessary technical and client data and information to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Technical Coordination to Ensure Application Accuracy: Collaborate closely with the design and engineering teams to ensure the technical aspects, including single line diagrams and equipment details, are accurate at the time of commercial interconnection application submission. Ensure that commercial interconnection applications are error-free and resolve any discrepancies or corrections promptly to prevent delays. This includes ensuring the Interconnection application data aligns with the AHJ application and permit data.
- Monitor Utility Portals: Regularly monitor all assigned utility portals for commercial interconnection application statuses and update project managers on the progress of respective projects.
- Distributed Generation Knowledge Sharing: Develop and maintain a solid understanding of distributed generation principles for solar projects and monitor evolving interconnection regulations and utility requirements to facilitate commercial interconnection discussions and learning opportunities to build internal capacity.
What you need to bring to this role…
- Commercial Solar Interconnection process knowledge for multiple utilities: Ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of utility requirements for Commercial Solar and solar + storage interconnection applications to streamline the approval process.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal: Ability to maintain open and clear communication with stakeholders regarding commercial interconnection progress, timelines, and any additional requirements.
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM software: Ability to utilize Salesforce to track and manage commercial interconnection application data and interactions.
- Time management and organization skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently: Ability to efficiently manage multiple commercial interconnection applications, prioritizing tasks to meet project deadlines.
It would be great if you also had…
- Strong knowledge of solar and solar + storage systems, including technical specifications and design principles.
Where you will sit and the places you may go…
This position is remote with potential on-site meetings and may rarely require up to 25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects such as company-wide celebrations, team building exercises, etc. Availability to work nights and weekends may very rarely be required.
GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and/or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. In this instance, applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly pay commensurate with experience within the pay band ($35-$40 per hour), plus the benefits below.
