We are currently seeking a Commercial Manager, Analytics & Assortments, who will facilitate all commercial initiatives and communications to the regional commercial teams including global core assortment decisions, core program & pricing decisions, presentations, grass root initiatives, and facilitate KPI tracking and key touch points.  This position will serve as a hub for the regional commercial and product teams around communication of key initiatives (growth targets, product launches, tracking, etc.).

 

Key opportunities for growth in sales here will be built along three pillars: growing share, expanding customization, and accelerating growth of direct sales. This will also be the key role to help support the wholesale and e-commerce teams grow share through targeted analysis at our key partners as well as developing grass roots initiatives around basketball and volleyball with KPI tracking.  From an analytic standpoint the role will facilitate all tracking reports for the department as well as helping uncover development and shortfalls in the reporting geared towards business development. 

 

The Commercial Manager will facilitate all commercial initiatives and communications to the regional commercial teams outside North America including global core assortment decisions, core program & pricing decisions, presentations, grass root initiatives, and facilitate and harmonize KPI tracking and key touch points. From a league partnership standpoint, this role will facilitate global needs for key partners such as the NBA, NFL, NCAA, AVP, & FIBA (This includes any partner requests and VIK discussions not outlined specifically in contracts) and facilitate all orders and tracking of these contracts. This position is the key point of contact for day to day needs for Global Commercial Managers and Brand Managers, External Partners, Planners, Ada , AST, and the SAP team representing over $100M of business.

 

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Analytic synthesizing and mining of consumer, customer, market, and internal data.
    • Reviewing customer direct POS reporting and building a summary of findings monthly.
    • Manage the Circana data analysis to help build targeted market share growth plans with wholesale leaders.
    • Support the USA Wholesale Commercial Manager on S&OP reporting and presentation.
  • Point of contact for any communication clarification from regional managers around targets, tracking, and budgeting.
    • Weekly and monthly tracking on internal numbers tied to our key building blocks to be collected and summarized for internal sharing.
    • Manager of internal programs and Business Planning communications
    • Validate the business plans and drive ongoing inventory action plans
  • Assortment coordination among the global and regional lines
    • Ensure that all regions adhere to our global core line and meets requirements for regional assortments.
    • Supports the Regional Managers and PLMs in understanding SMU and MOQ requirements.
    • Facilitate the GTM Toolbox (sell-in / sell-thru / sell-out) for regional business working with our Marketing, Product, and Sales teams as a clearinghouse.
  • Key Partnership (NFL, NBA, NCAA, AVP, & FIBA) product contract management (VIK) as well as above and beyond requests.
    • White Glove service for more partners could be achieved as we grow.
    • Act as the Wilson Ambassador towards these organizations (driving integration, networking, influencing, relationship building) when needed.

 


This role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Analytics, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.  We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years of relevant commercial, sales and/or retail merchandise management experience for consumer products; athletic and/or sporting goods market experience a plus (Market and Customer Insight).  Experience in e-commerce and/or D2C sales is a must!  Retail experience and/or experience with overseas markets is a plus.

  • Must demonstrate a strong business awareness while understanding the bigger picture; thinks of result, efficiencies, performance, and quality; suggests solutions and drive initiatives.
  • Expert understanding of analytics and drawing actionable outputs and problem-solving ability via data driven and marketplace dynamic solutions.
  • Understanding of how category range, key products, competitive landscape, end user benefits and the price/value relationship work together in the online space.
  • A strong understanding of how market landscapes work including consumer targets, channel dynamics, key accounts, and competition is required to be successful and help manage our business objectives daily.
  • Self-confident, with the presence, interpersonal skills and experience to bring credibility to others.
  • Structured disciplined thinking and understanding of how actions affect the P&L.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to communicate and work effectively across regions and cultures in a matrix environment.
  • Must be comfortable in a fluid and evolving organization with a highly collaborative work style.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-20% in region and internationally when needed.
