Job Summary

Burrtec Waste & Recycling Services is a well-established refuse and recycling collection company serving various municipalities throughout Southern California. Burrtec continues to grow through co. acquisitions and successful bid proposals. We have the following position at our Palm Desert, Yucca Valley and Coachella divisions:

COMMERCIAL DRIVER

Collects material from containers and dumps into truck, on a designated route.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Drive truck within a designated route.
• Collect refuse or recyclable materials by operating hoisting device that raises container into truck.
• Sporadically pull/push containers to ensure proper retrieval
• Transport load to disposal area.
• Communicate with dispatch on an ongoing basis
• Complete pre and post trip inspection.
• Maintain good customer relations and maintain cleanliness of vehicle at all times
• Will climb in/out of truck on a continual basis
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Must have a valid Class "A" California Commercial Driver’s License with no air brake restrictions. This position requires the review of motor vehicle records (MVRs) prior to or during consideration of application as well as ongoing review through California’s Electronic Pull Notice (EPN) Program.
• Be able to communicate in English.
• Ability to understand and complete route sheets and dispatch tickets.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to follow instructions

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must have one (1) year of Commercial driving experience, required.

PHYSICAL:

• Must have ability to operate a truck and continuously maneuver joy stick.
• Must be able to sit for long periods and have ability to lift, push and pull sporadically up to 40 lbs.

Pay: $24.65 - $31.00 per hour
