Job Description
We are seeking a Commercial Construction Project Manager to join our team! You will oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.
The position is responsible for managing daily activities and issues related to completing a Construction Project, including overall project planning, scheduling, project cost accounting, quality control, contract administration, safety management, labor and equipment resources, and owner and architect relationships. A project list is highly recommended with submission!
Responsibilities:
- Manages all employees at one or more project site (Superintendents, Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) and is responsible for the site’s overall financial performance.
- Enforces Risk Management practices at all necessary levels. Typically oversees 15 or more employees and ensures that all employees are treated justly and professionally.
- Manages the performance management process at the local level: communicates performance expectations, uses effective coaching and mentoring practices to accomplish the objectives, and constructively addresses performance problems.
- Responsibilities include client interface, client satisfaction, contract administration, personnel administration, cost estimates, proposals, project financial management, subcontract agreements, project staffing, purchasing and schedules, enforcement of quality control and site safety, health and substance abuse programs, developing and maintaining project records and project documentation, managing the data based management system, preparing reports and providing required input to corporate management.
- Allocate resources for assigned projects
- Supervise onsite personnel and subcontractors
- Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients
- Negotiate with contractors to receive reasonable order costs
- Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications
Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field plus a minimum of 10 years experience or a minimum of 15 years related experience in the construction industry with a commercial and/or or industrial general contractor
- Extensive experience in the management and coordination of multiple projects and employees at multiple sites or large projects at a single site
- Familiarity with construction management software
- Strong leadership qualities
- Expertise in producing detailed fixed price estimates and has the ability to use RS Means or other unit price books to produce detailed line item estimates when necessary
- Expertise with MS Word, MS Excel, estimating and scheduling software, Visio,
- Excellent understanding of the principles, methods, and techniques of Engineering
- Excellent negotiating skills
