PURPOSE OF THE JOB


The College & Career Pathways Manager (CCPM) champions the design, administration, and success of BUILD’s post-secondary education, workforce, and career exploration and advancement programs designed to increase postsecondary graduation rates and employability, improve life skills, and develop well-rounded, financially self-sufficient emerging adults. The CCPM is the primary contact and liaison for internal and external communications related to BUILD’s postsecondary education and career programs. The CCPM will provide training, leadership, and supervision to program personnel and engage in cross-functional collaboration to accomplish program objectives and effectively perform the agency’s core values while advancing the mission and vision.

The College & Career Pathways Manager reports directly to the Director of Education & Support Services (DECS)

Requirements:


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work directly with the DECS to design and manage postsecondary education success and career exposure/development program objectives and outcomes, recruitment strategies, execution, and evaluation.
  • Cultivate positive long-term relationships with colleges, potential employers, and technical and training programs to support career needs and assist with talent supply and demand.
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, train, support, and evaluate staff Career Pathways program staff, ensuring professionalism, quality of service, and cross-functional.
  • Identify best practices, gather resources to support successful program implementation, and contribute to departmental and organizational strategic planning.
  • Work collaboratively with agency staff to create, monitor, and report on the progress of work plans, program services, events, and budgets.
  • Assume stewardship over BUILD’s scholarship program application and selection processes, recipient progress, retention, graduation rate tracking, donor reports, and communication, submission of payment requests, and monitoring of expenditures.
  • Serve as lead on youth employment year-round and summer program design, recruitment, compliance and reporting, implementation, and budget management.
  • Coordinate career fairs/conferences, orientations, or other training and educational events to increase exposure and access to diverse educational options, professionals in the workplace, and Career Pathways.
  • Allocate resources towards the achievement of program objectives.
  • Manage fiscal program budgets; track expenditures; submit credit cards; check request purchases and reconciliation.
  • Serve as the primary post-secondary education and career development contact and liaison to field referrals from community, corporate, and school administration to appropriate BUILD services and programs.
  • Participate in additional coursework, training, conferences, and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Participate in agency-wide program endeavors; encourage participant/community participation in agency-wide fundraising events.
  • Contribute to departmental and organizational strategic planning.
  • Ensures the proper attendance, data collection, and record retention are maintained in approved agency and external required databases for grant compliance purposes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information according to HIPPA and FERPA privacy laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office required.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships internally and externally to achieve the organization's goals.
  • Strong organizational and supervisory skills and effective resource management (material and staff) are required.
  • Proven background working collaboratively with groups of diverse backgrounds and experience.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours and travel for overnight college visits, tours, and professional development conferences.
  • Ability to apply strategic and creative thinking while being persistent, motivated, energetic, and detail-oriented.
  • Must pass a criminal record and child abuse/neglect registry check.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License, access to reliable transportation, and willingness to travel locally.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least three (3) years of related work experience in youth development. Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience with program and curriculum design, facilitation, and management required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience developing, managing, and leading teams.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with youth from historically underserved populations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • As of October 15, 2021, all BUILD employees must submit proof of full vaccination status. Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccine.
