JOB DESCRIPTION:
SAHARA Cocktail Server Models are an élite, experienced group of professional Servers who have an acute attention to detail, can be flexible and adjust to their surroundings, and are able to have fun and seem carefree in a very fast-paced environment. Servers are responsible for providing superior guest service to ensure that all of their guests have unforgettable experiences.
JOB FOCUS:
Focus is on, but not limited to the following:
- The Cocktail Server Model is responsible for providing quality guest service while preparing and serving beverages
- The Cocktail Server/ Model participates in in-house modeling programs, special casino events, Banquet service functions, and performs model/presenter tasks
- Responsible for handling cash and credit card transactions at the Point of Sale system
- Provides timely cocktail service in a friendly and courteous manner
- Initiates and engages in conversation with all guests in a professional and friendly manner
- Acts as an ambassador of the venue, marketing the hotel and all products offered to the targeted customer base
- Prepares all products according to established venue recipes, focusing on proper portion size control
- Exhibits and executes a complete knowledge of the venue’s sequence of service and selling technique
- Provides each customer with a properly itemized bill and secure payment according to established procedures
- Works with a sense of urgency to anticipate customer needs and assist other team members when the opportunity arises
- Communicates with management, VIP hosts & service staff to rectify any and all customer needs, comments or incidents
- Ensures that assigned area, side station, tables and POS stations are clean and well stocked at all times
- Communicates and works with all support staff to ensure inventory is maintained at established par levels
- Adheres to all established policies, procedures and guidelines
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2 year work experience in high volume beverage or nightclub setting
- Previous cocktail serving experience in a high-volume preferred
- Previous modeling experience preferred, but not required
- Must have strong knowledge of spirits, wines, champagne, mixed cocktails and European bottle service
- Must present a professional and pleasant appearance that guests will find appealing and approachable in order to engage in conversation
- Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of point of sales systems
- Requires the ability to work within a team environment
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to obtain a Nevada state Food Handlers safety card, Alcohol Awareness card and Nevada non-gaming card
- Must be neat and clean in appearance and physically fit to perform the duties required
- Must be able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift wearing high heels and work inside assigned bar area in the venue
- Must be able observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations
- Requires the ability to work within a team environment. If hired in as a steady extra (SE) position, the Cocktail Server-Model must be available to work all shifts, to include Day, Swing and Grave shifts
