AMETEK MRO AMERON has over 40 years of experience servicing and selling aircraft safety equipment thought its operating divisions, AMERON Global Product Support (AGPS) and MASS Systems. Operating three FAA-145 repair stations, AMERON specializes in the repair and overhaul of aircraft fire extinguishers, oxygen systems, crew masks and other flight safety equipment. AMERON also offers for sale a wide variety of PMA parts related to the safety equipment it repairs.
Acquired by AMETEK in 2009, AMERON is a unit within AMETEK MRO's Aerospace and Defense Division, a recognized global provider of third-party MRO services to commercial, regional and general aviation customers as well as military, helicopter and business jet markets.

Position Summary:
The Co-Op position offers a variety of opportunities including basic engineering tasks related to design, analysis, test, integration and systems engineering. Opportunities can vary from working in Application Tooling, Utility, Lean Manufacturing, Research & Development lab, New Product Development, continuous improvement or more.
Engineering Interns will typically support one or more experienced engineers in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as the day-to-day operations of the engineering department. Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which will help them build a strong network within the Ametek MRO community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical equipment for aircraft components.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical documents such as component maintenance and quality manuals.
• Ability to reverse engineer tooling and fixtures design necessary for completing inspection, testing and overhauling of components using error proofing methodologies.
• Ability to write technical documentation for tooling, fixtures and equipment developed.
• Assisting drafter in development of testing, repair, and overhaul tooling and fixtures.
• Contribute to team projects using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and work with a diversity of people at various skill levels.
• Preferred prior experience working as an Engineer (Mechanical and/or Electrical) a plus.
• Uses equipment and materials properly.
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:
The ideal candidate is seeking a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) degree or higher from a four-year college and/or university in the field of Engineering.
Experience:

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conslusions.
• Ablitly to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Ablitliy to design work flows and procedures.
• Extensive experience with developing project plans, coordinating projects, communcating changes and progress, completing projects on time and budge, managing prject team activites.
• Advanced written and oral commujcation skills.
• Advancanced level of proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).

• Proven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: excellent commucaition, presentation, leadership and interpersonal skills, well developed problem-solving skills; solid organization skills; and the demonstrated abilit to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organiztion.
• Looking for hands-on individual with the ability to see the big picture.
• Ablility to work well under pressure, mutli task and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to set goals and objectives to meet Business Unit expectations.
• The right person will be ambitious and flexible to who wants to learn and grow professionally.

Compensation
Salary Minimum: $40,000
Salary Maximum: $50,000
