SUMMARY
Performs basic set-ups and operates multi-axis numerical control milling machines and/or lathes to produce quality parts adhering to the Quality Management System, Good Manufacturing Practices, Lean Manufacturing Principles, and all other applicable regulations and company standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Review production schedules and work orders.
- Interpret job specifications and blueprints, set-up and operate CNC machines, and collaborate with engineering to troubleshoot.
- Inspects items produced according to the Inspection Plan, while complying with the established standards and methods for inspection, testing, evaluation and calibration.
- Change tools as per the frequencies indicated on the Tool Sheet as well as regularly inspect tools and measuring equipment for defects and/or replace as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities on the equipment in assigned area, and communicate any need for repairs to management.
- Examines defective machinery to determine problem and reports need for machine repairs; requisitions materials and procures tooling to support equipment.
- Accurately complete required documentation on a timely basis.
- Train operators to run the job and monitor their output.
- Perform 6S and housekeeping activities within assigned area.
- Recommend process improvements to engineering and/or management, and assist with the implementation as needed.
- Understands and complies with safety guidelines, quality system procedures, and housekeeping standards.
- Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), CNC Operator experience and mechanical inspection background.
