The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the CNC Programmer is responsible for interpreting project blueprints, designing programs and setting up machines to produce the components outlined in the program at the Wilkes-Barre, PA facility.
Essential Functions:
- Create and edit CNC programs that support the machining/finishing of small to large-scale, complex, ceramic components. 3-axis CNC milling machining centers (CAM file generation, post-processor machine code generation).
- Perform machining process development & optimization (part setup/fixturing, machining strategy/order of operations, tool selection, speed/feed process parameter selection).
- Identify, select, and procure appropriate tooling for job specific applications.
- Perform program prove-out validation.
- Work with product engineers and manufacturing to identify process improvement opportunities (reduced machining/setup time, improved part quality, reduced manufacturing risk).
- Resolves programming related issues, departmental issues, problems, and bottlenecks to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Provides input for department's short- and long-term needs and goals and assists management in determining needs for staffing, equipment, and software.
- Participate in cross-functional teams comprised of engineers, production supervisors, quality engineers/inspectors, and operations to support program schedule & performance goals, mitigate manufacturing risks, and improve operational efficiency.
- Create and edit CMM programs that support part inspection and gauge/fixture calibration, assumes learning period if no prior experience.
Qualifications
Minimum Educational and/or Experience Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a technical field with 2 years' experience in programming or 5 years equivalent industry experience.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering technical data packages (CAD models, engineering drawings, quality inspection/control plans, manufacturing instructions).
- CMM programming experience a plus (MeasureMax).
- Blue light inspection programming a plus (Polyworks).
- Ability to become proficient in CMM and Blue Light programming if no prior experience.
- Candidate must be detail oriented, highly organized, and possess excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Experience editing 3D CAD models, Mastercam preferred.
- Experience creating and/or editing CAM files (machine cutter tool path generation), Mastercam preferred.
