One of the most trusted and leading tier-1 automotive manufacturers in the United States has created an opening for a hands-on CNC Programmer with an experienced level manufacturing and programming.
The ideal CNC Programmer will have an understanding of working in a manufacturing environment, exhibit a technical aptitude, preferably experience with programming 5 axis machines in MasterCam and assist in the production operations of the machine shop. They should be able to lift enough weight (20-50 lbs.) to perform his/her job.
Core Responsibilities
- Ensure machines are running at optimal efficiencies.
- Program a variety of CNC machines.
- Program, setup and operate CNC machines using modern CAD / CAM software and or shop floor programming at the CNC Machine control as required
- Coach and train operators as required
- Adjust set-ups and programs to improve yields and cycle times.
- Communicate all work in progress and inform upper management of potential problems with agreed deadlines.
- Works closely with Quality to assist in the development of inspection frequency.
- Design / select tooling, fixtures, and gauges to deliver quality machined parts from CNC mills and lathes
- Ensure part conformance using measurement tools including micrometers, indicators, height / depth gauges, comparators, and calipers
- Develop set-up sheets and work procedures for machinists
- Manage competing demands and tight deadlines to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Develop and maintain supportive, professional relationships
- Communicate clearly and effectively; treat people with dignity, respect, and fairness; maintain confidentiality.
- Promotes all company safety rules and requirements
