Job Title: CNC Mill Set up Operator

SUMMARY
Responsible for set-up and operation CNC Mills. Machine parts in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Experience with CNC Mill set-up, debug and operations. Mazatrol experience a plus but not required
- CNC Mill set-up with Modular Fixturing and Tooling
- Full Understanding of Work and Tool Offests
- Selects tooling and work holding fixtures per program and/or set-up instructions as required completing the machining of a wide variety of parts.
- Reads and interprets work instructions including but not limited to blueprints, routings and inspection sheets.
- Proficient at use of inspection procedures, gages and equipment.
- Adjusts machine setting to complete tasks according to specification, accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Works with design engineering and manufacturing engineering to identify any changes in tolerances for machined parts or tooling.
- Changes tooling and inserts as required to meet production objectives.
- Completes required documentation of part specific machine set-ups so there is easy access to this information by all company staff.
- Assures cleanliness and organization of department tooling, fixturing, and may perform or schedule preventative maintenance of equipment in all assigned areas of the plant.
- Identify, develop and implement process and job task design improvements to increase efficiency of cycle time, work flow improvements and cost reductions in process, procedures or materials.
- Assures all tooling is staged and available for current and future jobs.
- Runs production and accurately completes quality reporting forms and time sheets.
- Operates fork truck as needed for staging production parts and for moving and storage of large tombstones and fixtures for machine centers.
- Other duties or responsibilities as may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Indirect responsibility for machine operators when directing set-up operations for machine tools used in production.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Requires a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of direct work experience in CNC Mill set-up inclding familiarity with tooling and fixtures used in a production environment.
Ability to demonstrate leadership in machine set-up and transfer knowledge of skills to others as required to assure an efficient production environment.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL:
Ability to follow applicable Quality System requirements and work in a team environment to accomplish the objectives of the company.

Office and shop are located at ground level.
Operates jib crane handling machine pallets, tombstones and fixtures for machine set-up as well as large production castings and forgings up to 750 lbs.
May walk, bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
May walk and stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours.
Work requires close vision.

Works in the shop and occasionally enters the office environment, works closely with others.
Clean, well lighted area with access to up-to-date office equipment and technology. Shop is air conditioned, all areas.
Works around moving material handling equipment and machine tools.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal – Reports to and works with Manufacturing Manager and all staff.
External – May interact with vendors, suppliers, customers.
BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY: Direct responsibility for reporting damaged goods or quality defects resulting in a negative financial impact on the company.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
