Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret detailed Auto CAD drawings and Solid models
- Use Gibbs Cam to create accurate and efficient CNC programs to be used in the machining of components
- Update, modify and improve existing programs to current revisions, methods, and updated tooling
- Work closely with shop floor personnel on “dialing in” machining processes to lower costs and improve quality
- Troubleshoot and correct machining problems
- Test new processes and tooling to lower costs
- Work with Engineers to improve manufacturability of new and existing products
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects
- Abide by all safety rules and requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification in CNC programming or a related field preferred
- Minimum 8 years of experience working within machine shop environment
- Minimum 5 years of experience programming with Gibbs CAM
- Experience programming both lathes and mills up to 5 axis
- Familiar with Haas and Fanuc Controls
- Experience in Solid Works is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, and speeds for various materials
- Experience setting up and running CNC lathe and mills
