CNC Machinist/Programmer

Our team at APE is seeking a CNC machinist to assist in our machining operations and help grow our business!
In this role you will machine parts across a wide range of project sizes, material types and finish criteria. We are a small (12 people) but growing business that is looking for an energetic, self-starter to help us build our machining operations, and increase our capacity.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $28 - $38 per hour
What You’ll Do:
- Program parts from STEP models
- Setup machines for required operations
- Procure tooling as required
- Operate Haas mills and lathes, as well as some manual machining
- Inspect completed parts for accuracy and quality requirements.
- Lead the expansion of our machining operations and build the machine shop to be a world class facility.
- Assist with implementation of procedures and processes to improve business efficiency
- Work with engineering team to improve designs to make machining easier.
- Special ad hoc projects as needed.
- Help management with the selection of new tooling and machinery
Qualifications:
Advanced computer skills and professional level of programming software REQUIRED: You will program your own parts as well as provide feedback to our engineers on ways to improve the design.
Good working knowledge of geometry, basic math, and measuring instruments.
Advanced knowledge of programming codes
Journeyman understanding of machining practices
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving skills: Almost all of our projects are one-off so we are constantly solving a new problem.
Motivated and shows willingness to learn.
Willingness to teach others the machining skills for them to advance and grow
Demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude

Hours:
Standard hours are M-F: 7:00am – 3:30pm.
Compensation: $28-38 per hour
Pay will be commensurate with your experience and skill level.
2 weeks paid vacation per year

Pay: $30.00 - $39.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
