Job Description
CNC Machinists use a variety of CNC Lathes, Mills, Lasers, and Waterjets used to cut metal. Will need the ability to review blueprints and drawings to determine set-up procedures, machine sequences, and dimensions. Must be able to set-up jobs by loading programs, selecting fixtures, part holders, and tooling to machine parts to specifications. Those in the CNC Operator and Programmer role operate specialized machines that require programming knowledge to manufacture metal products. This requires precise technical and programming skills in order to correctly and efficiently mill the desired parts and check the results for accuracy.
Technical skills, abilities and experience
- High degree of hand and eye coordination for the production of parts
- Experience with SolidworksWorks is preferred
- Experience with AutoCad is a plus
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics to program the correct data into the milling machine to produce the part
- Experience with set-up, programming and operation of a CNC machine
- Experience using precise measuring tools to maintain a high level of accuracy in milling parts with a tight tolerance
- Ability and skills to replicate a product from a sample
- Must be familiar with programming and editing
- Experience with Press Break is a plus
