Summary
The CNC Operator/Programmer produces machined parts by programming, setting up and operating a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine while following company rules and policies.
Job duties
- Reads and interprets blueprint designs of the product to be manufactured and sets machine to produce product/components to customer specification.
- Programs router by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches, calculating requirements including basic math, geometry, trigonometry, proving part programs.
- Sets up router to manufacture parts; loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part and sample work pieces.
- Makes mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements.
- Periodically checks CNC machine to ensure positioning of drills stay perfectly aligned.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment through preventative maintenance; following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Abides by the policies, procedures and work rules established by the plant. Establishes and maintains Company housekeeping standards.
- Performs other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Ability to read technical manuals/blueprints/drawings
- Critical thinking – once problems are identified, solutions and improvements must be found. This might involve thinking about a process, procedure or problem in a completely new way.
- Methodical/analytical problem-solving skills, and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Strong organizational/follow-up skills; attention to detail
- Ability to work well with limited supervision.
- Professional presentation and attitude
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $27.00 per hour
