Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain our CNC lathes. The CNC Lathe Machinist will be responsible for producing precision parts and components according to specifications and blueprints, ensuring efficient and effective use of machinery, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating CNC machines, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes according to specifications and blueprints
- Load and unload workpieces into the machine, adjusting and aligning as needed
- Monitor machine performance and adjust settings as needed for quality control
- Inspect finished parts and components for accuracy and quality, making adjustments as needed
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications
- Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and equipment as needed
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and machinery issues as needed
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers to ensure accuracy of parts
- Work with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminum, brass, and plastic
- Maintain and clean the machine and workspace, ensuring a safe and organized work environment
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts, identifying areas for process optimization and waste reduction
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of experience in CNC machine operation, with a focus on lathe operation
- Experience with reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in the use of CNC software and other relevant software applications
