Ophthalmology Office seeking Surgery Assistant.
Shift expected is every Thursday, with an occasional Tues. Approximately 6 days a month total.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in preparing the patient for surgery, instructing the family about the surgical procedure, presenting postoperative instructions to the patient and family.
Maintaining accurate and complete information in the patient’s surgical and clinical chart. Assisting with the flow of patients through the operative process.
Setting up and assisting with surgical cases by assembly of equipment and supplies according to physician preferences.
Setting up and assisting with surgical cases by opening supplies and instruments according to sterile technique.
Assists the circulator with responsibilities for intra-operative safety related to infection control.
Prepare soiled instruments for cleaning, including the decontamination and reprocessing of instruments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must demonstrate a positive attitude and devote attention to details and patient service. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
