CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant

Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Summary:

One of our government client requires a contractor to provide nursing services to District of Columbia eligible students or wards of the District of Columbia eligible students during transportation to and from their education programs. CNAs will work under the supervision of registered nurses or licensed practical nurses to provide entry-level nursing care and assistance to students with medical needs as outlined in their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Responsibilities:

• Provide entry-level nursing care to students during transportation to and from their education programs.
• Assist students with activities of daily living, including mobility, positioning, and transferring.
• Administer medication and provide medication reminders under the supervision of a licensed nurse or physician.
• Local Educational Agency (LEA) staff, parents/guardians, and external providers to ensure continuity of care for students.
• Document all medical services provided and report any significant changes in students' conditions to the Contract Administrator (CA).
• Wear appropriate uniforms during work hours.
• Participate in orientation sessions to understand duties and responsibilities, student rights, confidentiality, and infection control protocols.
• Adhere to all professional standards of performance and demonstrate skill, care, and diligence in service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with licensing and certification requirements, including maintaining a current CNA certification with Med Tech certification and CPR certification.
• Provide monthly reports documenting activities performed to the CA by the specified deadline.

Requirements:

• Possession of a valid CNA certification with Med Tech certification issued by the District of Columbia.
• Current CPR certification.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with students, LEA.
• Ability to work within a team and follow established procedures and guidelines.
• Must pass routine pre-employment criminal background checks.
• Must provide medical clearance certifying freedom from communicable diseases.

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
