About the Position

• Lead Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist
• Full-Time, 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period)
• 8-hour shifts. Days, Evenings, Occasional Weekends
• Imaging Department

Job Summary: The Lead MR Tech works under the supervision of the Imaging Department Director. They assist the patient population by performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging exam, procedures and all related duties. The Lead MR Tech assists with protocoling and scheduling MR appointments, maintains all QC documentation, and maintains and keep current the ACR, MDH and TJC manuals. The Lead MR Tech will provide respectful and inspiring training for all MR staff.
Here's what you'll do when you join us:

• Perform MRI procedures on patients of all ages and for all areas of Grand Itasca.
• Examine provider orders to assure proper tests are completed.
• Instruct and prepare patient for their procedure.
• Operate equipment following the MRI procedure protocols.
• Obtain and prepare images for reading and evaluate images for quality and technical clarity.
• Perform quality control procedures.
• Maintain safe patient environment in the procedure area.
• Assist with protocols and scheduling MRI exams, work with the radiologist to ensure the MRI protocols are current and properly used.
• Maintain all QC documentation.
• Maintain and keep current the ACR, MDH, and TJC manuals.
• Check procedures charges weekly.
• Attend MR system practice counsel.
• Train all new employees in MR.
• Provide guidance and instruction for Radiologic Tech students.
• Other duties as assigned.

If you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat:

1. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registered or ARMRIT certification required.
2. Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements upon hire.
3. ARRT MR certification required within 18 months of hire.
4. 5 years' of MR experience preferred.
5. BLS certification, or ability to obtain with 2 months of hire and maintain certification.
6. Good computer skills.
7. Good interpersonal communication skills.
8. Demonstrate ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca's policies, vision, mission and values.
9. Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
