Our global client in the aerospace and defense industry is looking for a Cloud OS Automation Engineer to join the EIS Multi-Cloud Architecture team and play a big part in developing their public cloud platform. This team is focusing on standardizing Operating Systems in their global AWS & Azure infrastructure in both US Government and standard regions and is looking to bring on additional resources to support the existing environments and accelerate delivery of new capabilities. They will also be responsible for all things automation for this initiative and supporting hundreds of application projects. REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ year experience in Cloud OS Automation
o Experience in both Azure and AWS cloud environments
- Hands-on Experience with RedHat Ansible and SLES (SUSE Linux Enterprise Server)
- Experience with GitHub, branching, and large-scale software development projects
- Experience with DoD STIG/CIS standards
- Familiar with both Linux and Windows operating systems
- Experience developing automation solutions using 3rd party solutions & infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, Ansible and/or direct API integrations with Python based functions
- Technical understanding of public cloud and enterprise infrastructure
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain golden images and post deployment automation for Windows Server and Linux operating systems to DoD STIG standards
- Implement desired state configuration management and patching strategies to ensure continuous compliance.
- Integrate with Active Directory and management tooling.
- Author and maintain audit and user documentation.
- Provide production escalation support to end-users.
- Using RedHat Ansible to perform automation to public cloud platform
- Participate in sprints and sprint planning with Agile product team
- Gather and complete development tasks using Ansible and Python
- Support and facilitate the adoption and expansion of automation practices in the clou
