Form of workThe University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Nursing is seeking a 60% Clinical Technician I to work for the OBGYN Women's Health Clinic.
Basic Function and Responsibility:
Under direct supervision assists in patient care and the preparation of patients, operation and maintenance of specialized equipment for special procedures and tests.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities - Clinical Practice:
Assists with patient admission, transfer and discharge.
Completes baseline admission data on patient arrival.
Observes patient for changes in physical condition.
Demonstrates competency in the performance of technical skills, providing appropriate care with regard to patient's condition and age.
Maintains a safe environment for patients and follows standard precautions.
Complies with unit, departmental, and hospital policies/standards.
Participates in unit based Quality Management programs.
Implements emergency care procedure in actual and practice situations.
Documents information obtained during tests/procedures.
Works as a team member and supports cohesiveness of unit personnel.

Percent of time: 60% | 24 hours per week.
Hourly: $17.00
Location: Main Campus
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8A-5P, rotating days off. No weekends, no nights, no holidays, no call.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- One year of health care experience involving direct patient care.
