Summary of essential job functions
- Provide Clinical Support to the nursing leadership team and is part of the nursing management team in the facility.
- Ensure the daily operations are in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
- Assist the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.
- Complete necessary audits and Infection Control program in the building.
- Schedule daily rounds to observe clients and nursing staff, ensuring that quality care is provided to clients.
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the DON as necessary/required, concerning nursing operations.
- Participate in PLS surveys made by authorized government agencies.
- Attend various committees of facility (i.e., Infectious Control, Policy Advisory, Pharmaceutical, Budget, Quality Assessment and Assurance, etc.) as required, and as appointed by the administrator.
- Schedule nursing staff including working with nursing staffing agencies to fill in schedule needs according to facility and agency agreements.
- Maintains master forms on computer for: Floor schedule, calendar attendance, trade slips, call-in slips, leave early slips, payroll deduction sheet, new schedule sheet, etc.
- Assist with on-boarding and training of new hires.
- Take and make calls after hours.
- Work the floor when necessary; and every other weekend.
- Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse(RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Indiana.
- Prior experience as a manager/supervisor or scheduling with skilled nursing/long-term care a plus.
- Pass a physical, drug screen, 50-pound lift test, fingerprint for criminal background and complete the orientation program.
