Clinical Solutions Manager - Sterile Processing - Remote

JOB SUMMARY:

Partner strategically with sales and product division teams to provide insight into Sterile Processing Department processes and provide clinical and educational expertise in order to secure or enhance current business.  Develop training programs, identify issues to be addressed, review trends and monitor competencies for instrument processing and sterilization quality assurance (QA) review for all staff.  Advise SPD managers on how to improve operational efficiencies and ensure that SPD staff have the knowledge and training certifications necessary to follow the best procedures for sterilizing and maintaining surgical tools and medical equipment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

•     Provide overarching sales support to General and Specialty Field Sales teams for all Sterile Processing and Surgical Instrumentation product categories.
•     Provide formal education to customers and sales teams on Sterile Processing regulatory standards and compliance, current Sterile Processing practice issues, and safety standards.
•     Coordinate and perform strategic and operational on-site assessments within Sterile Processing, in support areas and within other applicable departments
•     Conduct on-site investigations related to Quality complaints, perform water parameter assessments, carry out sterilization container assessments, perform Instrument reviews and provide clinical review & observations for improved practice and best practice recommendations.  Communicate learnings/new knowledge for the field to management and sales departments.
•     Assist Sterile Processing staff in design and implementation of SPD performance improvement projects
•     Participate in forums, committees, and professional associations as the clinical expert and subject matter expert for SPD and surgical instrument products/programs.  Stay up-to-date with industry trends and current events; present at local or national professional organizations.
•     Contribute to the development of new products along with the modification and improvements of existing products by providing customer (end user) insight for process enhancement and improvement opportunities.
•     Mentor new team members, participate in sales team training or assist leadership in team training, meetings and/or National Sales Meetings.

Education

Position requires at least one of the following certifications per specialty area or meeting state-specific requirements to practice:

• CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician)
• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist)
• CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse)
• CPD certification from one or more of the following preferred: IASCHM, AAMI, Certified Scrub Technician

Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of Central Processing experience with evidence of experience in leadership, decontamination and sterilization practices

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Thorough understanding of clinical environment; working knowledge of all specialties in area of position.
• Experience diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
• Experience working with clinical data analytics & metrics.
• Communications planning and implementation experience (including the ability to integrate and coordinate various elements into an actionable plan).
• Experience presenting to and communicating with various audiences (ex. others with differing language, senior management and non-technical audiences).
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Position requires travel (by air/auto) up to 75% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
• Environment includes office setting and medical facilities.
• Position may require non-traditional work hours during in-services (ex. weekends, multiple work shifts).

The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,280 to $150,800 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold
