The TGH Cancer Institute Clinical Research Office is the centralized Clinical Research enterprise to support all Oncology research. As the hub for all cancer research activities, this office supports all aspects of research including but not limited to trial feasibility, activation, recruitment, and enrollment into Phase I-IV clinical trials; enhancing the opportunities for treatment options for patients in the Tampa Bay area. Tampa General Hospital's Cancer Institute provides comprehensive care via groundbreaking therapies and advanced diagnostic imaging tools. Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Research Coordinators, Research Specialist Lead, and Clinical Research Manager:
- Assists research personnel with multiple research projects
- Orders and inventories clinic and study supplies including, but not limited to, lab kits while tracking expiration dates of lab kits
- Oversees dry ice supply, including ordering, inventorying, usage and projection of dry ice supply
- Maintains equipment logs and monitors calibration. Maintain temperature logs for freezer(s) and refrigerator(s)
- Performs clinical duties as per protocol such as drawing, processing and shipping biological lab specimens, e.g., blood and urine; performing EKGs; obtaining vital signs; cleaning equipment and exams rooms
- Analyzes study specific lab manuals and creates study specific lab binders and kits
- Assists staff with subject registration, making subject follow-up appointments, administrative tasks, filing/archiving documents, maintaining files, copying, faxing, mailing documents, and operating automated office equipment as needed
- Assists with the coordination of organized meetings, conference calls and training
- Assists with regulatory duties as assigned including routing documents for signature and tracking documents for completion
- Performs data entry and redacts source documents as requested
- Assists with screening and recruitment efforts as assigned
- Assists with ordering and inventorying office supplies
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Requires knowledge and experience with basic computer skills and Microsoft Office products.
- Requires full-time presence in the office.
- Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of the Office of Clinical Research (OCR), the Center of Research
- Excellence (CORE) and Tampa General Hospital.
Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED with three (3) years of work related experience or Associates Degree and 1 year of relevant experience. Current Good Clinical Practices (GCP) certification. Current certification in phlebotomy required or certification must be obtained within 6 months in this position preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, principles and techniques used in Clinical Research.
