Job Summary
Under the
Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) Internship Program, the CRC Intern will be provided with the orientation and training in
Clinical Research, exposure to various therapeutic areas and research methodologies, and hands-on experience assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of clinical trials. Interns will be introduced to the lifecycle and execution of clinical studies in accordance with CHOC policies and procedures, ICH/GCP, and FDA guidelines.
Pay Range
Minimum $15.77 Midpoint $20.89 Maximum $26.02
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
Required: None.
Preferred: Clinical research experience in a hospital setting and/or pediatric Clinical Research experience.
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree or a combination of relevant work and education.
Preferred: Prior work experience, preferably in Clinical Research support.
Specialized Skills
Required: Strong interest in Clinical Research and desire to pursue a career in the field. Commit to the full term of the CRC Internship Program. Basic knowledge of key Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. Be detail oriented. Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing priorities.
Preferred: Working knowledge of human subjects’ regulatory requirements and International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP). Working knowledge of Cerner or equivalent electronic medical record system. Knowledge of sample identification, processing, and storage.
Licensure
Required: RQI Responder- American Heart Association. If incumbent does not have certification at time of hire or promotion, certification is expected to be obtained within 6 months of assuming position. With management approval, the time in which to obtain certification may be extended past 6 months due to extenuating circumstances.
Work Environments - Functional Demand:
